Stitch Embrodery Craft

Since the ancient time the village of Bor has been famous for peculiar embroidery craft. The products of Bor embroideresses were popular far beyond the boundaries of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The traditions of the embroidery craft are preserved by Bor Embroidery Factory, the history of which goes back to the 30s of the 20th century.
The products of Bor craftswomen have been exhibited numerous times at Russian and international fairs and exhibitions, including the Exhibition in Brussels where they were highly appraised by specialists and connoisseurs of embroidery.

Now the factory manufactures various souvenirs: tablecloths, shawls, kerchiefs, towels, napkins, shirts, blouses, in the decoration of which the traditional embroidery techniques are used. The range of products also includes such consumer goods as men's shirts, bed linen, night gowns, and various uniforms. Only natural textiles are used in the production.
There is a show-room at the plant where the highly artistic, unique samples of the factory's artists are exhibited. The visitors of the show-room are offered master-classes and are shown new collections of clothes.
