The second floor of the building hosts one of the unique museums of Russia - the Nizhny Novgorod Region Handicrafts History Museum. It has become one of the most popular points in the tours around Nizhny Novgorod. The collection of the museum comprises over 3,000 exhibits.

As if turning over the pages of the «living chronicle», you will get to know about the history of development of the famous crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod region. At the entrance you will be met by goodnatured lions that guard the gates decorated by wood-carving and carved interiors of peasants’ houses brought from the villages of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Here you will have a chance to admire the unique old samples of the crafts, traditional Russian costumes and, guided by experienced guides, to get acquainted with the technology of producing objects of clay, wood, metal, leather, and will hear a lot of legends about the crafts and their masters.

The museum carefully saves the history of the handicrafts that have been forgotten by now. By request of tourist operators the museum organizes cultural and entertainment programs.
